Renting a car can sometimes feel overwhelming to some when it really should not be. Usually the biggest problem most people expects is the pricing scenario. Prices have shot up in recent years due to the fact that most car manufacturers are no longer giving car rental companies the kind of deep discounts on purchases they used to. So prices these days are generally much higher than they used to be. The best way to get a good deal is to look for unique customer package offers being given by the car company of your choice.

A lot of things you get charged with are usually really out of the car rental company’s control. There are county taxes, airport taxes, concession fees and so many other things. At times it can even add up to twenty five percent of the cost of the rental car. If you have a premium level card such as a gold card or platinum card, sometimes you will find that they will cover you car insurance, otherwise, try as much as possible to avoid buying unnecessary insurance. If your covered then there is no need to buy extra insurance. Keeping this in mind will ensure you don’t give car rental companies too much of your hard earned money.

Lastly, resist the temptation to get vehicles at the airport. Try your very best not to get cars from those airport counters. It is generally much more convenient, however, it will definitely end up making you spend a lot more money than you generally would. This is largely due to the high taxes and fees these car rental companies are required to pay thus the high pricing they place on unsuspecting customers is their attempt on trying to cover these costs. Always make sure you look out for cheaper rates of nearby local branches.

Travelers nowadays are looking at and traveling around New Zealand through camper windows. In fact, it has become so popular that multiple companies have popped up that are now renting out vans catering to those visiting. Traveling around in a campervan can be absolutely exhilarating. The key is knowing what to do and what not to do. Below, we will be going over some essential tips to follow when you are looking to travel around New Zealand with a campervan.

Tips For Traveling With a Campervan:

1. Choosing The Right Vehicle.

The biggest decision that you are going to have to make is what vehicle to choose. You want to be sure that you are choosing the right vehicle that fits your specific needs. For instance, if you are looking to do a lot of camping in remote areas, you might want to opt for a vehicle that has a much larger water tank in order to get access to sufficient water while you are traveling. Whereas, if you are not traveling to remote areas, you might be able to get by with a smaller vehicle.

2. To Rent or Buy.

Another major thing that you are going to want to figure out is whether or not you should be renting or buying the campervan that you are going to use. Renting a campervan for a short term trip is actually very affordable. However, if you are planning on traveling for an extended period of time, it might be much more cost effective to simply purchase the campervan and possibly sell it when you are finished using it.

3. Are You a Mechanic or Handy Man?

Another major thing that you are going to want to figure out is whether or not you are going to be able to handle the maintenance of the vehicle yourself or if you need someone else to do it for you. This is a very important factor to consider because if you are not entirely confident in your vehicle knowledge and you can’t fix a flat tire or anything basic that can go wrong with your van, you are likely going to end up being better off simply renting it from a company. That way, you know that you are getting a vehicle that has been well taken care of and one that is not necessarily going to break down on you during your trip. Also, if you do happen to break down during the trip, you will be able to call the rental company to assist you.

Overall, there are a lot of different things to consider when it comes to finding the best campervan to either rent or purchase for your trip. There are a lot of things that you want to look at and think about in order to make the right decision. Following the tips above should lead you to make a good one. Once you do, you will be well on your way towards having an amazing adventure!
